Wear your Sunday Best. Newcastle Fashion Week.

Photographer Wiesia Bojko
Model Shannon Routledge

Today I was lucky enough to be part of Newcastle Fashion Week.
I got a job as an assistant with Laura Pearman Photography with access to back stage.
I helped Laura with her back stage photos, social media and editing.
We started at 11am and the girls started getting ready. We created the first test shots behind the scenes and I uploaded them to Laura's facebook page.
Nick and Marie from ND MAKE UP created today's vintage look. The hair and make up looked amazing.
The girls were wearing 'The House of Seduction' luxury underwear.
Laura was taking the main photos and she stayed with the girls on the main stage. At the same time I had the opportunity to use some fantastic natural lighting coming from a sky light in the roof and a reflector to create some nice portraits.
After the fashion show there was a performance by a lovely pop vocal group, Scarlet Street.
Zita Frith, Jennifer Davies, Rosie Winter and Rachel Cook who have a unique musical style called Barberpop.
If you would like to have a look at some more photos from the main stage taken by Laura please have a look her FB page Laura Pearman Photography or on her website http://www.pearmanphotography.co.uk

Last weekend I worked on a great project with the super talented Helen Woollams.
I was really excited to travel to Luton for this job and a perfect excuse to spend a few days with my friends in central London.
I am about to graduate in few weeks time and I would love to work as a full time assistant to learn more lighting techniques and work on my own projects on the side.
I am a little bit nervous about the future because I know its not easy to get work but I believe if you really want something, by working hard you will get there eventually. I have great support from my boyfriend, family and some really good friends which helps and means a lot to me.

Luton Shoot
I arrived at Helen's house in Luton on Friday afternoon. But on the way to King Cross to get the train I received an email from one of my favourite photographers Amelia Troubridge. "Wiesia can you help on the shoot today if you are in Central London?" I was so excited when she contacted me but so disappointed that I couldn't go because I was already on my way to Luton. Anyway, I hope she will contact me again...

Shooting for Hellavagirl boutique was my first work as the main photographer outside of Newcastle.
The studio was small but the lights looked exactly the same. The set up was really easy. We needed to show and sell Helen's new collection so the best solution was a high key set up.
I was so happy when I found out that the new collection was inspired by POP ART. The same idea that I had had for my final project and the exhibition in London.
