GOLD

Beauty shoot.

The studio shoot with Ashleigh and Marta was great fun. The girls know each other from previous shoots which really helped. Ashleigh is just perfect for beauty shoots. Great skin, amazing green eyes and nice lips. I am so happy I found her, she is my favourite model.

I was really excited. For the first time I used a macro lens with manual focus beauty dish and capture one program. I connected my camera with iMac so I could see the photos directly on the computer screen. This really helps to control the lighting and Marta could change the make up and hair to look its best. I also used a gold reflector which adds a soft, warm glow which was perfect for this beauty shoot.

I am really happy with the results. I love the gold make up and the sharpness of the image. I haven't edited these photos too much, I gently smoothed the skin and I removed a little bit of the red colour. I think the photo shoot looks really professional. I still can't decide which photo is my favourite.
I feel like we've done something really cool girls.

DOSKA MUA

I wanted to say thanks to Marta for her great work, support and fantastic ideas so I invited her for a portrait shoot. She has helped me a lot with my photo shoots for Uni this year.

The shoot with Marta went nice and smooth. I arrived at the studio first thing in the morning. One of my photos from the first year has been displayed in large format in the Art and Designer gallery. This made my day.

Back to the studio.
I decided to use a grey background and two lights, one with a soft box and other with honeycomb to light the hair.
I didn't like this effect, it reminded me of an 80's style portrait, so I decided to go really simple and use just one light and the soft box. In the usual Marta style, perfect make up and attention to detail. She is professional, very enthusiastic, creative and stylish. I prefer to work with people which I know. I feel more relaxed in the studio. I hope she will use the photos on her website and facebook page.

We were very well organised and she arrived on time. The photo shoot took around one hour then we decide to go shopping together. I bought new little dress from ZARA.

Newcastle Fashion Week Barbour show.

NE1's Newcastle Fashion Week's second day enjoyed glorious sunshine at Grey's Monument, Newcastle.

Barbour show.
The Barbour story began in 1894 in the Market Place in South Shields. Today the 5th generation family owned business remains in the read, with Barbour's headquarters located in Simonside, South Shields. Although it sources products from around the globe, Barbour's classic wax jackets are still manufactured by hand in the factory in Simonside and each year over 100,000 jackets are processed via the central, subsidiary and local customer service operations.
Special guest, Brix Smith-Start, introduced the collection.

Product shoots Dresses

I am trying to get some summer work experience as an in house photographer in the fashion industry.
In my spare time I am trying to use the studio space as much as possible.  Last week I done some product shoots with Aga. I would like to do a few more using different light set ups.

Laura's Portrait

Today I did a portrait of Laura, a very talented young photographer from my course.
We both want to learn more about lighting techniques and we both want to be better.
We set up the lights together using High Key set but, then we decided to shoot on a black background using just one light with a soft box.
Laura was complaining all the time about how horrible modelling is and how much she hates herself in my photos.
I think she has real natural beauty, I love her skin tone and cute freckles .

TOPSHOP

TOPSHOP LOOK BOOK

Sundays photo shoot with Marta and Danielle went really well.
I decided to do a Summer look book for TOPSHOP using the clothes from the current season and shoot by the coast. Unfortunately the weather wasnt great so we decided to shoot indoors. Marta found a couple of really cool locations, an Antique/Vintage Boutique and a sweet shop.
I really enjoyed the styling part of this project. We decided what clothes, jewellery and gadgets to use, including my favourite 35mm fisheye camera around the models neck.

I love the make up done by Marta, it went so well with colours of the sweets. The Illamasqua eyelashes looked spectacular.
Despite the horrible cold weather in the middle of May, the photoshoot was great and I had a great time working with the girls. I am very happy with the photos.

I finished my first year of Uni last week so I will have more time to spend on personal projects. I will do more fashion and beauty shoots over the next couple of months, and I will definitely do more photoshoots for clothing brands and look books.

Fashion Designer

I was really busy last week at college with my own projects and was asked by the head of the photography department if I had the time to do a photo shoot for the fashion students and their final fashion projects. This was a great opportunity and I felt privileged that he had asked me to be involved. I felt a responsibility to do a good job for the guys and girls from the fashion department. I also met a few very talented young fashion designers who I hope I can keep in contact with and maybe work with again in the future.

ZARA LOOK BOOK

ZARA LOOK BOOK

Last project for Uni.
The project was to choose a well known brand and create a look book to showcase a collection. I chose ZARA.
I done two photo shoots, one in the studio and one in a local Restaurant on Newcastle's Quayside. I would love to work for a brand as an in-house photographer, and create LOOK BOOKS and website banners. My inspiration for this shoot came from a Luis Vuitton advert which i seen in the Spring 2012 edition of ID magazine. I decided to follow the trends of pastel colours and used summer dresses from the latest ZARA collection. I took a selection of product shots of the dresses and the finer details, then used a model to shoot some studio shots in high key light set up to show the dresses as they were shown in the original website. I then decided to shoot the dresses on location in a restaurant, as i thought this was the right place to show where the dresses would be suitably worn. This was my favourite project throughout this last year, and I was very pleased with the outcomes and feedback that I received from Sam Brown, a fashion photographer for End.
